Ricardo Golovko was born in La Plata, on December 10th of 1952. His interest in painting drives him right from his childhood—and thanks to some friends of his parents—to be acquainted and in close touch with two great painters of Argentina: Benito Quinquela Martín and a friend of this: Juan Agustin Basani, whose works form part of the Museum of La Boca in Buenos Aires. Ricardo Antonini Golovko (this is his full artistic name) had the opportunity of sharing some time with the great Benito Quinquela Martin, who passed on to him important concepts and ideas that became essential for his work. There is a variety of themes for his works, including sea landscapes, countryside activities and the different people involved in them. In March 2001, and after a long “impasse” in which he was dedicated to his profession of public accountant, Golovko takes up again his paint brushers and frames. This allows him to give a renewed impulse to his artistic activity, exposing his works in La Plata and Buenos Aires both individually and in collaboration with other painters. Golovko was also honoured with awards and mentions in known figurative painting galleries. Served as juror for the Artist Association of the Province of Buenos Aires.
